Friar Aguggiari

In 1600 Gian Battista Aguggiari, a Capuchin friar of Casbeno’s Friary, decided to realize the extraordinary Road of the Chapels, joining the foot of the mountain to the top.

The money for the building was collected after one of his passionate sermon: he was so able to involve people in this project that at the end there was a generous donation of money and valuables.

Labours began in 1604 and only two years later, in 1606, one of the chapels was already finished.
